Cassis is a picturesque fishing port with a local markets providing regional specialties, from cheese to fish to crafts. Head a little past the Port de Cassis marine, surrounded by restaurants, to find the La Grand Mer beach. Very close to the hotel is the scenic Plage du Bestouan, and further afield is Calanque de Port Pin, a rocky natural area with beaches and hiking trails. There is the beautiful and mountainous Calanques National Park, as well as the Calanques Massif with its interesting geological formations. Padel tennis can be played in Cassis, Bandol has a golf course, and there is a riding centre in Carnoux en Provence. Not too far away, likewise, is the culturally rich Marseille, with its Notre-Dame de la Garde, the Museum of European and Mediterranean Civilisations, the Marseille History Museum, Porte d’Aix, and the splendid gardens of the Parc Borély.

Les Roches Blanches is a 5-star hotel with 45 rooms and suites overlooking the sea in Cassis, enjoying a splendid location between the village and the famous Calanques. The hotel benefits from the panoramic views of the sea and the cliffs but is just fifteen minutes' walk from the centre of the charming village and pleasure port of Cassis. Named after the limestone rocks found along the coast, its halls have seen both Winston Churchill and Edith Piaf as guests. Within what was once a mansion from the late 1800s, its rooms are decorated in a modern style with hints of the Mediterranean. Les Belles Canailles, the hotel’s signature gourmet restaurant, provides lunch and dinner, using the capable expertise of Chef Nicholas Sintes. Le Loup Bar is a raw fish Nikkei restaurant, in a splendid coastal setting enclosed by pine trees, where guests can also enjoy Japanese barbecues. Rocco is the Mediterranean restaurant, on a terrace overlooking the harbour, serving antipasti and mezze in the evening. There is also brunch on Sundays, as well as Les Roches Blanches bar with its cocktails, and La Pétanque Bar offers small dishes, pizza, and beverages, as well as a pétanque court. Guests can also indulge in relaxation in the spa, featuring a mosaic hammam, or have a refreshing workout in the fitness room. The hotel also has an excellent Clefs d’Or concierge service, provided by Matteo and Romain, with numerous different activities on offer.

The journey and how you get there
For a holiday to Les Roches Blanches, our clients arrive by a variety of transport methods: from London to Paris on the Eurostar, a train from Paris to Marseille, and then a regional train (taking around an hour) from Marseille to Cassis or a private transfer from the station in Marseille to the hotel. Likewise, it is also possible to fly to Marseille and, from there, take a private transfer to the hotel, or a hire car if part of a touring holiday.
