Out and about nearby
Located near the edge of the Petite France district, in central Strasbourg, the hotel is well-placed for those interested in history and culture. Characteristic of the district is the Ill river and its quays, lined by old yet vibrant houses. Head over to the Covered Bridges (dating back to the 13th century) to marvel at the guard towers, or to the Rue du Bain-aux-Plantes to view the half-timbered buildings. At the district’s border is the Musée Historique de Strasbourg, a museum covering the history of the city and located within a slaughterhouse from the 1500s. Likewise, venturing out into the wider city, find Strasbourg Cathedral and ascend up to its viewing platform, or the Parc de l’Orangerie, known for its many storks. For the region in general, there are vineyards, villages and towns along the Alsace’s wine route. Indeed, there are the cobbled streets of Riquwihr or the medieval Ribeauvillé with its old town and Christmas market.

Luxury bespoke hotel holidays to Les Haras Hotel, Alsace
Les Haras Hotel is a 4-star hotel in Strasbourg, nestled near the edge of the Petite France district. Previously the 18th century National Stud, the renowned architects, Patrick Jouin and Sanjit Manku, have placed a heavy focus on designing the hotel using natural materials and maintaining the equestrian heritage of the building. There are 115 rooms and suites, decorated, with a graceful sense of minimalism, in calming, block colours and charming wooden textures. The breakfast room has a stylish interior featuring warm and natural colours, adorned with sculptures of medicinal plants by Pierre-Louise Dietschy. The buffet serves farm produce, and the hotel team can provide breakfast in your room, the dining room, or on the terrace if its sunny. Haras Bar is a great place to meet Strasbourg locals and has a interior courtyard, great for sunning oneself in the summer. Meanwhile, the Brasserie des Haras works in partnership with the hotel and has a menu by the chefs Marc Haeberlin and Francois Baur, which allows guests to experience French classics, Alsatian delicacies, and dishes paying homage to those from around the globe. Moreover, guests can unwind in the Spa by CODAGE, with its indoor swimming pool, sauna, hammam, tea room, and treatments. There has been effort put in to make this a haven of relaxation, from the ambient lighting to the smooth pinewood of the sauna to the mother-of-pearl mosaic tiles of the hammam.

About Alsace
An Expressions tailor-made holiday to Alsace enables you to visit both the northern Vosges and the cultivated quaintness of the Alsatian Wine Road during your holiday in the region. With its combination of stunning natural scenery in the wooded hills and valleys of the Vosges mountains, with ruins of mediaeval fortresses and fortified villages, with gently sloping vineyards facing the Rhine valley and with fairy-tale like towns of pretty half-timbered houses and cobbled streets, Alsace is a region well worth visiting. Standing at the crossroads of Europe, Alsace encapsulates an unmistakeably European flavour where historic and cultural influences of its French and German neighbours have created a unique atmosphere with an independent character and great traditions.
Highlights of Alsace
Sample Choucroute and Gugelhupf, Wine and Beer, the Cherry festivals in May, the festival of Son et Lumiere at Strasbourg cathedral in the summer, the Wine festivals in the autumn, and the Christmas markets towards the end of the year.
