The Grand Hotel in St Jean de Luz is an hotel we have worked for a long time but was refurbished a couple of years ago to recreate its original Belle Époque splendour. The hotel enjoys a prominent position on the wide, sandy beach of St Jean de Luz and only a few minutes` walk from the Basque style old town and fishing port. The Grand Hotel has a cosy lounge with comfortable chairs and sofas, a bar and a gastronomic restaurant with terrace overlooking the beach, where classic dishes with flavoursome Basque undertones are served. The rooms and suites are comfortably and prettily furnished. The rooms we offer at the Grand Hotel have either a view of the hills (the Rhune) or the sea. All rooms have air conditioning, mini-bar, safe, sound proofing, telephone and satellite television. The location is superb for beach lovers but also ideal for golfers with eight courses being less than 15 minutes' away. For rest and relaxation after a day out there is the hotel's new Loreamar Thalasso Spa complex. Numerous restaurants are within easy walking distance of the Grand Hotel. Early booking is a necessity for the summer season.

The journey and how you get there
For a holiday to The Grand Hotel Thalasso & Spa, our clients fly to Bordeaux and then usually have the use of a hire-car for the duration of the holiday, or they arrive in their own car on a self-drive holiday, often as part of a multi-centre touring holiday (we would include a Eurotunnel crossing or a ferry crossing, depending on the itinerary), or they arrive by train, having taken the Eurostar London to Paris or Lille, and then the TGV to St Jean de Luz. From St Jean de Luz, it is a short taxi ride to the hotel, or, if you are visiting more than one hotel or want to explore the region, we recommend having a hire-car. We will arrange this for you.
