Shell Beach and Mahault Bay are both within the Canouan Estate, reached in a few minutes by golf cart, and offer white sand, calm water, and excellent snorkelling opportunities. Mount Royal, the island’s highest point, can be reached on foot with a guide and has wide views over Mahault Bay, the estate, and the surrounding Grenadine islands. Tobago Cays Marine Park is around an hour away by private boat and is one of the most important day trips in the Grenadines, with coral reefs, clear water, and the Baradal Turtle Sanctuary, where green and hawksbill turtles are often seen. Mayreau can be included in the same excursion, with a stop at Saltwhistle Bay for its arc of sand and informal beach bars. Mustique is accessible by private boat or short flight, with walking trails, beaches, and Britannia Bay providing a change of scenery from Canouan.

Canouan Estate Resort & Villas is set at Carenage Bay on Canouan, a small crescent-shaped island in St Vincent and the Grenadines, surrounded by beaches and one of the Caribbean’s longest natural coral reefs. The estate extends across 1,200 acres of tropical landscape, from the coastal bays to the island’s higher ground, and is designed to offer an unusually spacious and private Caribbean stay. Accommodation is arranged between Caribbean-inspired Carenage Suites, private residences, and individually designed villas. The suites provide a relaxed base for couples and smaller families, with private patios and the option of a plunge pool, while the larger homes suit larger families and groups. Many villas have private pools, broad terraces, indoor and outdoor dining areas, kitchens, and views across the Caribbean Sea, the reef, golf course, or neighbouring islands. The resort’s dining venues range from relaxed lunches at Shell Beach Bar & Grill to Mediterranean-style dinners at L’Ance Guyac Beach Club, with Bellini’s Bar and La Piazza Italian Restaurant offering further, more casual, options. For a holiday to Canouan Estate Resort & Villas, fly from the UK to Barbados and continue to Canouan Airport by scheduled inter-island flight or private charter. We can also assist with air transfers from Barbados, St Vincent, St Lucia, Grenada, and Martinique, including shared or private charter. Guests can be met by the estate’s concierge on arrival in Barbados for help with transit formalities, before travelling onward to Canouan.

About St Vincent and the Grenadines

One of the most striking impressions of St Vincent and the Grenadines must be from the air flying between St Vincent and the other islands. Travel around the Grenadines

On St Vincent, taxis will take you on island tours and for shorter distances too. In the Grenadines travel from island to island is usually by boat or Air Mustique. The islands are very small and on Palm Island and PSV there are no cars. On Bequia taxis are available if you want to see the other side of the island. Be prepared for lots of trips by small boats and planes.
