Situated between the lush mountains of Mauritius and the Indian Ocean, Shanti Maurice has evolved from the highly acclaimed Ananda in the Himalayas into a boutique lifestyle resort with an award-winning spa. The resort is located in the south of Mauritius by the sea at St. Felix, spread over 36 acres of tropical gardens circled by gracefully wooded hills with breathtaking views of the mountains and the Indian Ocean. The accommodation is in 61 suites and villas, which are luxuriously fitted out and make good use of local wood and traditional materials to blend in with the lush surroundings. All rooms overlook the sea and are well positioned for privacy. Shanti Maurice offers extensive dining options, with an emphasis on locally-sourced fresh fare. The resort's new signature restaurant, Stars, is defined by its contemporary Cape cuisine and wide selection of South African wines. Pebbles restaurant offers an international menu that is influenced by the flavours of India, while the resort's rustic beachside Fish and Rhum Shack celebrates the bounty of the surrounding seas, complemented by cocktails using rum from the local distillery. The journey and how you get there

For a holiday to Shanti Maurice in Mauritius, Expressions Holidays includes flights from London to Mauritius Sir Seewoosagur Ramgoolam International Airport with British Airways direct. The flying time is about 12 hours. There are flights with other international airlines, for example Air Mauritius from London both direct and via Paris or Amsterdam and Emirates with departures from London and UK regional airports via Dubai. Shanti Maurice is about 45 minutes by car from the airport and Expressions Holidays will arrange a private car transfer.

Minimum stays: Minimum stay of 5 nights for all stays from 23 December to 6 January.

Children: Children are welcome. Children under the age of 12 stay free if charge when sharing with parents. Baby cots can be placed in any type of accommodation. There is a children's pool and a kids club, Les Petits Dodos, open to children aged 3 to 12. Children aged 14 and above have access to the Nira Spa pools and spa facilities. Baby sitting on request and should be booked in advance (service chargeable).

Marula Milk Water Ceremony An undoubtedly nourishing and luxuriant treatment. The Marula milk bath is designed to deeply hydrate and soothe the skin. An excellent treatment for reactive and dry skin.

Botanical Body Ritual In this two-hour treatment, the energetic essence of plants is captured in order to work in harmony with the body's own energy field. Botanical treatments help combat damage to living cells and they are free of chemicals or perfumes. The ritual starts with a renewal scrub; gently exfoliating lifeless skin cells while nourishing.
