The journey and how you get there

For a holiday to Amilla Fushi, the Maldives, Expressions Holidays includes flights from London to Male with British Airways direct (winter season only) or Emirates via Dubai. The flying time is about 13 hours. Amilla Fushi is reached from Male airport by seaplane in about 30 minutes and Expressions Holidays includes the seaplane transfer in your holiday price.

Minimum stays: Minimum 4 night stay during the festive period.

Children: Children are welcome at the Amilla Fushi, and there is a well-equipped Kids and Teens Club. Children under the age of 2 stay for free. Baby cots can be provided free of charge. Children under the age of 12 stay and eat for free when sharing with their parents on the same board basis.

Highlights of the Maldives

For many, the Maldives offer some of the most fascinating underwater exploration available, from both snorkelling and diving. There are over a hundred different species of fish, from angelfish to flying fish, snapper and triggerfish, stingray and shark, as well as turtles and numerous corals of a multitude of colours. If your resort is near Malé then the capital is worth a brief visit with its mosques, traditional houses with rounded corners and tea shops with a selection of ‘short eats’ including rice pudding, curried fish cakes and small bananas.

Cultural highlights of the Maldives

Bodu beru traditional music and dance, traditional seating - the undholi (like a hammock) and the joli (a net seat hung from a wooden frame), local crafts including mats, lacquer work and jewellery, traditional dhoni boats.
