Located in the heart of South Australia's Flinders Ranges, and on a 60,000-acre private wildlife conservancy, Arkaba Station is all about getting into the Great Outdoors of Australia's bush. Activities focus on early morning and late afternoon, when the wildlife and the light are at their best. During a 2-night stay at Arkaba Station, guests can expect to participate in a number of included activities that maximise your exposure to the breath-taking wilderness of the Flinders Ranges. Choose from wildlife viewing, bushwalking, photography, safari drives, visiting ancient aboriginal sites or soaking up the sights and sounds of the bush. Enjoy bush picnics underneath the magnificent Red Gums, track native wildlife or learn about the stories of early European settlement. Guests looking to venture even further afield can choose to participate in a scenic flight over Wilpena Sound. This scenic flight lasts approximately 30-minutes, and takes in the sights of Arkaba, the Elder Range, and Wilpena Pound.

Arkaba Station has 5 bedrooms, and although they have been designed with heritage in mind, the creature comforts of a premium lodge are ensured, with each room featuring air conditioning, a mix of king and twin beds, premium mattresses, organic cotton sheets and a choice of pillows. However, guests will not find telephones, televisions or minibars at Arkaba Station. Instead, the luxury of this lodge is in the magnificent wilderness setting, and the wildlife and scenery that will surround you.

The journey and how you get there
Sharp Airlines offer daily flights to Port Augusta from Monday until Friday. You will be met on arrival and transferred to Arkaba Station. Transfer time is approximately 90-minutes. Alternatively, private charter flights can be arranged from Adelaide or Kangaroo Island to the Hawker Airstrip. Flight time is approximately 60-minutes from Adelaide, or 90-minutes from Kangaroo Island. This charter flight will take in the sights of the wine country of the Clare Valley and the Mid-North district. You will be met on arrival and transferred the 20-minute journey to Arkaba Station. Finally, guests are welcome to drive to Arkaba Station from Adelaide. The journey time is approximately 5-6 hours on sealed tarmac roads.

Children: Arkaba Station does not permit children under the age of 8.
