The Calabash completes its expansion with two new Hillside Penthouse Suites
Calabash Hotel, the family-owned Relais & Châteaux member and two-MICHELIN Key hotel has introduced two Hillside Penthouse Suites to its inventory. Their completion marks an important milestone for the hotel, which has grown from 30 to 36 suites over the past year, further to four new Superior Deluxe Suites that debuted in April. The expansion - the hotel’s first since the 1990s - is a significant investment that reflects Calabash’s continued confidence in demand for luxury tourism in Grenada.
The Hillside Penthouse Suites
Elevated on a hillside, each suite offers exceptional privacy and sweeping views over Prickly Bay. Designed by Grenada-based IK Architecture, in close collaboration with the family, the suites are designed around seamless indoor-outdoor living, boasting 3,000 sqft of indoor and outdoor living space. Open-plan living and dining areas filled with natural light lead onto a private infinity pool and an expansive sun deck, complete with loungers and a shaded outdoor dining area. Interiors are calm and sophisticated, with a neutral palette accented by soft ocean blues, natural materials such as timber, travertine and quartzite, and layered ambient lighting that creates a warm, understated atmosphere throughout.

A fully-appointed bar and pantry, with coffee and tea amenities and a complimentary minibar, completes the suites, along with a dedicated golf buggy for guests’ personal use during their stay.
About Calabash Hotel, Grenada
Calabash is a family owned-and-run hotel, now in its second generation. Featuring 36 suites, three restaurants, a spa and on-site dive centre, the property is situated on a white-sand beach overlooking Prickly Bay on the south coast of Grenada. The hotel is a proud member of Relais & Châteaux and the island’s only two-MICHELIN-Key hotel.
The hotel’s three restaurants each have their own distinct identity. Rhodes, named in honour of the late chef Gary Rhodes, is the fine-dining restaurant, set beneath the vines and open for dinner. The Beach Club is the relaxed beachfront hub, open daily for lunch and on selected evenings for Caribbean and Bistro nights. Nori, the newest addition, serves Peruvian-Japanese small plates beside the pool overlooking the hotel’s grounds.
