Shopping in Rome

Museums in Florence
December, January and February are the perfect months to visit Florence, as the crowds have subsided, but there is a tremendous festive atmosphere from Christmas and New Year, through to the build up to the Florence Fashion Shows at the end of January and then the build up to Valentines, Mardi Gras and Easter.
The Accademia and the Uffizi museums are not nearly as busy and you can take in many more sites in a fraction of the time it would take in Spring and Summer. The shops and restaurants too are less busy, but have some wonderfully tempting food and clothes on offer. There is nothing like sipping a gloriously indulgent hot chocolate in one of the cafes in the Piazza della Signoria, watching the Florentines go about their daily business.
