Nothing could be better than combining one of the most glorious cultural centres in Italy, with a spot of sunbathing on the beach!
Why not combine 3 days in Florence, soaking up the Renaissance heritage of the Medici family, with its spectacular museums, churches and gardens. Situated right in the centre of the city, just a few minutes walk from the Piazza della Signoria, the Hotel Helvetia and Bristol provides beautiful accommodation with a relaxed and congenial atmosphere. From here it is just a few minutes walk to all the main sites of the city (and shops and markets too!). In addition, it is conveniently places for crossing over the Arno via the Ponte Vecchio to the Boboli Gardens, for those in search of a touch of tranquillity in the heart of the city.
After an exciting few days in Florence, why not head to the beach? Forte di Marmi is only 65miles away by car and is a charming seaside town with smart shops and restaurants. The Hotel Byron was a private Family residence in the 19th century and has been carefully converted into an elegant 5 star hotel with 30 rooms. Guests can use the beach nearby, but you may prefer to simply relax by the pool in the hotel’s gardens. The hotel’s restaurant, La Magnolia, is excellent or you may prefer to wandering 10 minutes into town to sample one of the many superb local restaurants.
It is a mere 30 minutes drive back to Pisa for your flight home, having well and truly experienced some of the best sites and sounds Italy has to offer!
