Don’t miss this magical world of Ceylon tea and exquisite service at Ceylon Tea Trails hotel near Hatton in high Tea Country. Book early to avoid disappointment!
Ceylon Tea Trails lies at an elevation of 4,000 feet in the Golden Valley of tea, a collection of four classic colonial bungalows built for British tea estate managers that have been sympathetically restored by the owners of Dilmah Tea to offer guests the unique experience of life on a tea estate. The temperature is cooler in the hills, cold enough at night for log fires and blankets (around 10 degrees Celsius). Daytime temperatures in the low 20s make it pleasant for walking, though be prepared for some rain. You can follow the Tea Trail from one bungalow to the next, or choose to stay at just one. You may choose to trace the journey of tea by visiting a tea factory, spend the day exploring further afield or relax in your Tea Trails Bungalow enjoying the personal service and luxuries offered by Ceylon Tea Trails. Each Tea Trail estate bungalow is set in beautifully landscaped gardens filled with colourful, fragrant flowers and carefully manicured lawns. The bungalows are elegant and luxuriously furnished with the finest cloth, soft Chinese rugs and weathered teak floors. Living rooms warmed by roaring log fires house drinks trolleys, old books, antique maps and soft armchairs. The bedrooms are spacious private spaces with comfy chairs to relax in and writing desks for the inspired. A butler is at your beck and call, attentive yet discreet, the rooms immaculate, the linen whiter than white. Afternoon cream tea is served on the lawn of each bungalow in fine weather with a tea menu treating each tea with the reverence of a vintage wine. The chef discusses all meals and mealtimes individually with guests and you can enjoy your meal in the dining room or garden terrace or in the privacy of your own room, as you wish. Exquisitely presented, mouth-watering dishes flow seamlessly through your day, leaving you contentedly satiated yet surprisingly unstuffed. A note for the adventurous palate - the Executive Chef has made quite a name for himself in tea-infused creations such as tea-marinated chicken. A menu of relaxing and rejuvenating in-room spa treatments and aromatic baths has also been introduced. A stay at Ceylon Tea Trails offers luxury living in a beautiful location.
