    Our opinion

The Residence Mauritius is a hotel that offers a fantastic range of leisure facilities and activities in friendly and stylish surroundings.

    Hotel description

Occupying a position on a glorious stretch of white sand beach on the east coast of the island, The Residence Mauritius is a striking five star hotel. The hotel has an atmosphere that is relaxed and calm, stylish and sophisticated. This is enhanced by the magnificent entrance hall, with its soaring ceilings and white pillars complemented by huge Indian wall carvings that add oriental flavour.
The bedrooms are all very spacious and are decorated in an understated, contemporary way, with elegant furniture, light colours and natural fabrics. Orchids and other flowers are present in every room, continuing the discreet tropical feel of the resort. The cool white of the buildings spreads out through the gardens down to the brilliant turquoise of the sea. The beach is an outstanding feature of the The Residence Mauritius, a kilometre long and of fine white sand, flanked by a reef-protected turquoise sea. At lunchtimes you can wander the length of the beach or wind your way through the palms of the garden to the Plantation Restaurant. Built in the style of a traditional Mauritian plantation house, this restaurant serves superb seafood and Creole cuisine under the filao trees. Refreshing homemade sorbets and ice creams can be enjoyed in the Verandah restaurant overlooking the pool and the sea. A very special feature of The Residence Mauritius is the Sanctuary, where exotic furnishings complement a range of services such as yoga, meditation and massage to induce a sense of rest and wellbeing. The hotel also offers an extensive range of water sports at the Yacht Club, located at the far end of the beach. Children can enjoy an excellent selection of activities such as crab hunting and beach games at the Planter’s Kids’ Club. The Residence Mauritius is a hotel that offers a fantastic range of leisure facilities and activities in friendly and stylish surroundings.
