Expressions Holidays finds the Belle Mare Plage extrremely well suited to family holidays. Families not only have a fantastic stretch of white sand beach but there is also a choice of accommodation, from inter connecting rooms and junior suites to self-contained villas with their own swimming pool. Numerous facilities are interspersed amongst the tropical grounds that border the beach, from a choice of seven restaurants to tennis courts and children's club. For parents there is the Shiseido Pavilion spa offering a wide range of massage and spa treatments. An excellent choice.

The journey and how you get there

Expressions Holidays includes direct flights with British Airways from Heathrow to Mauritius. The journey time is about 12 hours. We also offer the services of Air Mauritius that has both direct flights and indirect flights via Paris. Once in Mauritius you are met by the local representation company who arrange a private car transfer from the airport to the hotel. The transfer time is about one hour and fifteen minutes.

Our opinion

Constance Belle Mare Plage occupies a prime position on a fantastic beach but also has its own championship golf courses just behind the resort. A huge bonus is the range of accommodation that includes villas with their own swimming pool.

Constance Belle Mare Plage is located on a two-kilometre stretch of white sand beach amidst tropical gardens on the east coast of Mauritius and is a sister hotel to the exclusive Prince Maurice. The immediate impact on arrival is impressive, combining a sense of style, luxury and wellbeing as you are greeted by a vast, attractive reception area that overlooks the main swimming pool.
The Constance Belle Mare Plage resort offers a choice of hotel bedrooms of different sizes and a range of two and three-bedroom villas, which are located on the other side of the resort from the hotel rooms. Whilst all rooms at the hotel are extremely tasteful and are furnished to very high standards, it is the villas that really set the resort apart. Very spacious with a private terrace and small heated pool, the villas also have a living/dining room and a small service kitchenette, and their size makes them the ideal choice for families. A villa master is attached to each property and meals can be served in-villa. Another attraction at the Constance Belle Mare Plage is the Kakoo Club for children aged between 4 and 12 years, which has its own playground and swimming pool, and where a range of indoor and outdoor supervised activities is scheduled each day. The hotel boasts a position opposite two 18-hole championship golf courses, with guests able to benefit from free green fees. Another excellent facility is the Shiseido Pavilion spa, which offers a full range of massage and spa treatments. The resort’s main restaurant, La Citronelle, is located near the main swimming pool and serves breakfast, lunch and dinner (food court, buffet style). There is also a children’s corner with a separate buffet. Constance Belle Mare Plage offers a high degree of quality, service and facilities, as well as excellent value for money.

The Kakoo Club operates throughout the year for children aged between 4 and 12 years old, from 9am to 9pm. It is free of charge and staff are trained in first aid. The programme at the club encompasses an excellent variety of activities, such as beach volleyball, building sand castles, water sports, glass-bottom boat trips and sightseeing. Facilities include a swimming pool, toys, books, video games and a television. The Club is complimentary but meals are available at an extra charge.
Family rooms
All of the resort’s rooms are suitable for families. Interconnecting rooms are available and children over 3 years old are allowed their own room. Extra beds and cots are available on request. Maximum occupancy is 2 adults and 1 child in the Prestige Rooms and Junior Suites, 2 adults and 2 children in the Deluxe Suites, 4 adults and 2 children in the 2 bedroom villas and 6 adults and 3 children in the three bedroom villa.
