  • About this holiday

Expressions Holidays recommends Six Senses Laamu for those seeking an eco-friendly, yet luxurious holiday in an uncharted and private region. The white sand and clear, calm waters of Olhuveli Island offer breath-taking views alongside the elegant and luxurious villas. The fabulous bars and restaurants make use of the locally grown, organic produce and offer panoramic views of the surroundings. Diverse tropical cocktail recipes and a large array of exquisite wines interspersed with live music, DJ's, winemakers, the Jungle Cinema and the 'Guest Experience Makers' create a unique and fulfilled atmosphere. As with any Six Senses resorts, the spa is renowned and pre-eminent in this area, however, more adventurous guests have the opportunity to partake in a range of watersports accompanied by local experts.

Client testimonial: "The hotel is amazing and I would recommend it to anyone. It was top-notch on many levels and the week will forever be etched in our memories as one of the best ever."

    Our opinion

An eco-luxury experience in a palm fringed paradise.

    Hotel description

Six Senses Laamu is the only resort on the virtually uncharted Laamu atoll, a 50-minute flight from Male, deep in the Indian Ocean. Olhuveli Island is of outstanding natural beauty with powder white sand, lush tropical vegetation and crystalline waters and Laamu is the latest addition to Six Senses’ collection in the Maldives. 97 villas and suites offer the ultimate in privacy and comfort and have been elegantly designed with a focus on natural materials. They are eco-friendly yet luxurious in every way and sit on the beach or over the turquoise water of the lagoon. Six Senses Laamu’s bars and restaurants offer the best organic, fresh food, locally grown and caught and served in restaurants designed to take maximum advantage of the island’s idyllic beauty and panoramic views. Cocktails are inspired by original ‘tropical’ recipes and there are over 400 wines kept in a climatically controlled towering glass wine ‘cellar’. Live music, visiting DJs, mixologists and winemakers add to the fun. Service is second to none, with Six Senses GEMs (Guest Experience Makers) overseeing every need from arrival to departure. The Six Senses Spa offers five secluded treatment rooms plus four treatments nests within the island’s natural vegetation. Spa therapists use fresh natural products to provide a comprehensive range of award-winning signature treatments plus rejuvenation specialities of the region. As well as relaxing on virgin beaches, you may wish to explore the island on your own bicycle, snorkel with the Marine Biologist, learn to surf, dive, sail or water-ski. Not to be missed is a private picnic on a deserted sand bank or watching a movie at the Jungle Cinema complete with popcorn and chilled champagne.
