Our opinion
Luxurious accommodation with fantastic water sports and spa facilities.
Hotel description
On an exclusive island fringed by the coral reefs, transparent waters, and powdery gold and white sands of the Baa Atoll UNESCO Biosphere Reserve, the Amilla Fushi Resort captures the luxurious, tranquil lifestyle of the Maldives. Couples and small families are well-suited to the Ocean Reef, Lagoon, Ocean Lagoon, and Beach houses. Each has an idyllically-placed private pool, steps into the sea if placed above water, and fully-furnished outdoor relaxation areas. Ocean Reef houses in particular offer sensational views and direct access to the sea from their raised position on over-water stilts. Lagoon houses capture perfect privacy, as well as panoramic soothing views across the lagoon. For views across both of these enchanting stretches of water, stay in one of the Ocean Lagoon Houses, where steps take you down into the sandy shallows. If you would prefer to be immersed in the tropical scenery of this Maldivian island, stay in a Beach House. With full-size swimming pool and outdoor dining, and the beach still only a few steps away, this is a haven for larger groups or those seeking maximum seclusion. For something truly memorable, stay in the Wellness Tree House 12 metres above the ground. This serene accommodation option immerses you in the tropical vegetation of the island, and affords you fantastic views through the trees. Large open-plan living areas are designed in the same fresh, light, and neutral style as the other rooms, with plush furnishings and soft, wooden window frames and doors. Outside, on your private terrace, is a treetop pool. Bodyism spa treatments, dining options, and fitness regimes are at your fingertips to ensure you have a truly revitalising stay. The culinary delights of Amilla Fushi are headed by Chef Luke Mangan, who brings his international acclaim and gourmet excellence to Lonu, a terraced restaurant that hovers above the sea. A sophisticated menu has been crafted out of fresh, local ingredients, and paired with exquisite wines from the island’s own wine cellar. Seaplane and speedboat access is available for those looking to make the evening as spectacular as possible. Curated wine and cheese tasting events can be enjoyed at the Wine Shop & Cellar Door. At the centre of the island is the Baazaar; a collection of varied restaurants, serving everything from pizza and fish and chips, to Asian cuisine and seafood is clustered around the 1200sqm infinity pool. This is the hub of the resort, offering the gentle bubble of nightlife in the cocktail bars, the serenity of tranquil gourmet restaurants, and an enticing place to kick back during the day. An artisanal lunch can be had at the Emperor General Store and Beach Club. Select your own fresh produce, sample the deli light snacks, or choose something from the bakery, before settling down with a book in the library or unwinding in the games room. Finish off your stay at Amilla Fushi with treatments, a massage, and a dip in the Jacuzzi at the Javvu Spa, or a game of tennis on the island’s own courts.

We would recommend talking to hotel staff during your stay, or inquire at time of booking for a full list of activities.

Children are welcome at the Amilla Fushi, and there is a well-equipped Kids and Teens Club.
