An Expressions holiday to Windjammer Landing in St Lucia is highly recommended for families of all ages. As well as the excellent selection of activities on offer at the kids' club, there is also a teenager's club opening until 11pm for those aged 13 to 18 years. Children are allowed in four out of the five restaurants and there are no restrictions on timings. The fifth restaurant, Dragonfly, is one of St Lucia's finest and well worth a try while the children are being entertained in the club. Although there is plenty on offer at Windjammer, there is plenty more to see in the rest of the island. The hotel is five miles from St Lucia’s capital city, Castries. There is golf nearby with transportation from the resort and you may also wish to try horse riding, the Forestière Tropical Forest Trail, a day sail, dolphin watching or a waterfall cycling adventure.

Windjammer Landing resort’s excellent facilities make it ideal for children and adults alike.

Hotel description

A village of whitewashed buildings with turrets, arched windows and red-tiled roofs, Windjammer Landing nestles on a hillside of lush, tropical gardens above sandy Labrelotte Bay. Steep brick pathways traverse the tropical gardens, which are made bright by the colourful shrubs, trees and flowers. Cars are banned from these paths, but shuttle buses are available to take you back to your room if you wish.
The Mediterranean-influenced architecture is combined in the guestrooms with a Caribbean flavour, through the use of rattan furniture, sunny prints, tiled floors and potted plants. There is an excellent range of accommodation available that will delight families, from the two-bedroom family suite to the two, three and four-bedroom villas. Situated at the heart of the Windjammer Landing resort is the main house, with its cool and breezy tiled lounge and reception area. From here the resort spreads out to five different restaurants and the freshwater swimming pools and beyond that, down to the soft sandy beach. Here you can relax on a lounger or enjoy an excellent number of water sports activities such as windsurfing, kayaking and aqua-fin sailing. Children of all ages can enjoy a comprehensive range of activities, from beach Olympics and bonfires for teenagers, to tie-dyeing and nature walks for younger children. The Windjammer Landing also offers an excellent number of excursions which can either be enjoyed as part of the kids’ club or as a family; these include whale and dolphin watching, a rainforest safari and a catamaran trip to Martinique. The resort has five excellent restaurants, including the international cuisine of Jammers, which overlooks Labrelotte Bay, and Euro-Caribbean fusion at Dragonfly. The Windjammer Landing resort’s excellent facilities make it ideal for children and adults alike, but its terrain means that it is unsuitable for the disabled.

Children's and Teenagers' Clubs

The Jacquot Fun Club is open every day from 9am to 10pm for children aged from 4 to 12 and is free of charge. There is an excellent range of scheduled activities offered each day and children can choose to participate in as much as they want. This includes T-shirt tie-dyeing, story telling, limbo dancing, nature walks and water sports. Off site activities include visiting the mini-zoo and a jeep safari tour to Anse La Raye waterfall. Meals are provided at no additional charge. In the Teenagers’ club, supervised activities are organised for children aged from 13 to 18 years old from 11am to 11pm. These may include snorkelling, beach Olympics and water polo on-site, and a shopping tour or jeep safari tour off-site. Evening activities such as a movie night, barbeque night or bonfire are also organised.

Family rooms: The hotel has an excellent number of rooms suitable for families, including interconnecting rooms. The two-bedroom suites and villas are especially recommended, sleeping two adults and two children.
Babysitting: In-room babysitting is available in daytime and evening for children aged up to 4 years, at an additional charge. Babysitting must be pre-booked at least 24 hours in advance and meals and snacks are provided at an extra charge.
