Hotel description
From the moment you reach Jamaica’s Round Hill resort it welcomes you with a captivating sense of wellbeing and timeless style. The extraordinary beauty of the gardens cannot fail to impress even those familiar with the most beautiful gardens in the Caribbean. Once part of a plantation growing sugar, coconuts, pineapple and allspice, the lush grounds of the Round Hill hotel today burst with a splendid array of tropical flowers such as jasmine, frangipani and bougainvillaea. The hotel grounds are situated on a hill that descends to a crescent-shaped bay and yellow sandy beach. On the hillside, surrounded by individually created gardens bursting with greenery and splashes of colour, are Round Hill’s 27 villas that can be rented in their entirety or as separate suites. 23 of the villas at the Round Hill resort have their own private swimming pools. Closer to the sea is the colonial-style main reception area with its black and white tiled floor and veranda with comfortable chairs and sofas. To one side of the beachfront is Round Hill’s new swimming pool with its double vanishing edge, and nearby the Pineapple House, whose Oceanfront rooms have been renovated and redesigned by Ralph Lauren, who owns a villa on the property. The rooms at the Round Hill hotel, overlooking the pool and the Caribbean Sea, feature white stone floors and luxurious four poster mahogany stained bamboo beds, and boast enlarged bathrooms with separate deep tubs and freestanding rain showers. Ground floor rooms have a balcony or patio and the upstairs rooms have cathedral ceilings and views across the water. The bar at Round Hill has Jamaican mahogany chairs stylishly complemented by blue and white-striped soft furnishings. Dining is on the terrace most evenings to the sound of the lapping of the sea behind you or to soft calypso or jazz. Special evenings such as casual beach barbecues and Jamaican nights are held each week. The Round Hill resort is a popular choice for families: at the Pineapple kids’ club children can enjoy activities such as nature walks, talent shows, water sports and gymnastics. The Elemis spa is located in an 18th century plantation house. It offers Round Hill guests a wide range of health and beauty treatments and boasts ten air-conditioned treatment rooms, a fitness centre and a beauty salon. A patio set in the tropical garden houses a hydrotherapy tub, massage area and a swimming pool used for aqua aerobics. Indulge in facials, treatments and massages in a relaxed and tranquil setting. Ideal for families, couples and singles, Jamaica’s Round Hill provides stylish, understated elegance and wonderful personal service.
