    Our opinion

Turtle Beach is a great hotel with activities to suit the whole family.

    Hotel description

Offering an impressive range of sports and leisure facilities, Turtle Beach is a deluxe resort that boasts 1,500 feet of soft sand on the slightly wilder south coast of Barbados, at Dover Beach. The approach is along a lively stretch of road featuring bars and restaurants, the hotel itself being at a secluded end amid six acres of lush tropical gardens.
The most striking impression at Turtle Beach is a feeling of airiness and space – there are waterfalls, pillars and even tall palms throughout the interior. The bedrooms (suites and junior suites) are situated in the two main buildings, many with an ocean view or on the oceanfront. Each has a private patio or balcony and is decorated with modern, brightly coloured furnishings. The rooms at Turtle Beach are well suited to families, with the maximum occupancy in most being two adults and two children. Babysitters are available and interconnecting suites can be arranged on request. The self-contained kids’ club has its own eating area and a play park, and here children can enjoy an excellent range of activities that includes jewellery-making, music and beach activities. Guests can choose to relax by one of the three natural-form pools or to take part in a wide range of complimentary activities including tennis, sailing, snorkelling and a selection of water sports. Turtle Beach has three restaurants: the main restaurant, Chelonia, offers full breakfast, lunch and dinner, and the informal Waterfront Restaurant serves a buffet lunch and grill, as well as a barbeque on Saturdays. Asiagos Restaurant is for adults and children aged over 12 only and serves Italian cuisine in an intimate and airy location. This is a great hotel with activities to suit the whole family.
