Hotel description
Antigua’s Curtain Bluff occupies a majestic position on a rocky headland and bluff creating two distinctive beaches on either side, one calm and one surf. You approach the Curtain Bluff hotel through elegant wrought-iron gates and along a driveway, giving views of the sandy beach lapped by calm turquoise waters. Grand palm trees provide shade throughout the Curtain Bluff grounds and dozens of hibiscus add a profusion of tropical colour. Plants abound across the property, from the entrances and walkways to the terraces of the guestrooms. The houses that contain the bedrooms and the public rooms at the Curtain Bluff resort are painted pale pink and have grey roofs, traditionally Caribbean in style. The spacious reception area welcomes you with plants in terracotta pots and tiled flooring. Archways throughout the Curtain Bluff hotel buildings provide private seating areas and the comfortable lounge has a large selection of books and games. Afternoon tea is served in a room decorated in the style of a traditional sugar mill. Dining at Curtain Bluff must be considered a highlight of a stay here, as is the opportunity to taste the excellent wines the hotel has to offer. Cuisine is European and classic in style with an excellent choice of menus offered on a daily basis. Bedrooms are cheerfully furnished, overlooking the sea, with rattan furniture and large Caribbean prints. Curtain Bluff’s Junior suites are supremely comfortable and the Grace Bay and Morris Bay suites are exquisite, typifying a colonial feel in contemporary style. Guests can enjoy a full range of spa treatments in the comfort of their own room at the resort. The Curtain Bluff hotel is an excellent choice for couples and families of all ages. The hotel receives a large number of regular guests every year, so early booking is especially recommended.
