Nisbet Plantation's 36 rooms have a king-size bed, private bathroom with shower, air conditioning, telephone, minibar, ceiling fan, safe, hairdryer, tea-/coffee-making facilities, iron and ironing board, bath robes, umbrella, turndown service. Maximum occupancy for all suites is 4 (4 adults or 2 adults and 2 children) and for the Superior rooms is 2 adults and 1 infant under the age of 2.

The journey and how you get there

For a holiday to Nisbet Plantation in Nevis, Expressions Holidays includes flights from London to St Kitts with British Airways. The flying time is about 10 hours. Nevis is reached by water-taxi from Reggae beach on St Kitts, a 25 minute taxi transfer from the airport. The water-taxi crossing takes about 10 minutes. On arrival the hotel is a 5 minute taxi transfer away.

Additional information

Minimum stays: Minimum stay of 5 nights between 22 December 2020 and 2 January 2021.

Children: Children under 11 cannot be accommodated in an Upper Premier Junior Suite and only infants can be accommodated in Superior Rooms. Children under 8 are required to dine at 6pm in the Great House. Babysitting is available at an additional charge.

Other information: The Great House restaurant is closed between 19 August and 30 September. During this time meals will be served at Nisbet's laidback Coconuts or relaxing Sea Breeze Beach Bar.

Highlights of Nevis

The local rum is CSR produced on St Kitts and drunk with Ting, the local grapefruit soft drink or neat with ice and water. Carnival on Nevis is called Culturama and it takes place at the end of July. Nevis is famous for its first day cover stamps usually depicting the island’s flora and fauna, sea life, history and carnival. In Charlestown there are several shops selling local crafts and a gallery selling the prints, oils and water colours of Kate Spencer that depict island life. Beachcomber bar and restaurant on Pinney’s Beach and Prinderellas further north.

Cultural highlights of Nevis

Walkers and historians discover plenty of material exploring the grounds of the old sugar estates. Nevis has numerous museums including the Museum of Nevis History, the Alexander Hamilton House, the Horatio Nelson Museum. Pinney’s Beach, over 3 miles of sand, is ideal for walking and several beach bars and restaurants provide welcome relief from the heat. The architecture of Charlestown is some of the best preserved in the Caribbean with its balconied and gingerbread houses.

Travel around Nevis

With the island being so small, it is very easy to get to see the whole of it, the furthest hotel still only being about 30 minutes’ drive from the airport. For the hotels not on a beach, there are usually shuttle buses to take guests to the beach. Taxis are easy to hire and can be arranged through the hotels.
