Our opinion
The Hotel Castello enjoys a fine reputation in its own right as one of the best hotels in the Mediterranean and has an independent feel whilst being part of the renowned Forte Village Resort.
Hotel description
A splendid holiday resort made up of seven hotels, the renowned Forte Village Resort is set in 25 hectares of parkland. With a wide range of quality holiday accommodation complemented by excellent outdoor activities and facilities, it is ideally suited to families of all ages. Benefiting from the subtropical microclimate of this southwestern part of Sardinia, the resort has two kilometres of sandy, gently shelving beach.
The accommodation is dotted amongst the lush greenery of pine and palm trees, the buildings carefully blending in with the natural vegetation. Each hotel has its own distinct character with some rooms being in bungalows and many well suited to family occupancy. There are activities to suit all ages, from the sophistication of the Thalassotherapy centre, the Thermae del Forte, with its seawater tubs, mud baths and gym facilities, to the fun of the Mini Club, where children aged two to eleven can make friends and play under the supervision of trained staff. There is also a nursery service for children under three years and babysitting available for children of all ages. Land and water sports abound, from tennis to windsurfing, basketball to waterskiing. Swimming pools are strategically placed throughout the resort, some being reserved for guests of certain hotels, with others being more family affairs with waterslides and trampolines. Lunch can be taken at a variety of restaurants by the sea and the swimming pools, whilst evenings are more formal, with an excellent variety of restaurants to cater for different styles and tastes. The restaurants include a buffet at the Children’s Restaurant, seafood specialities at the Beachcomber and excellent local cuisine at the Sardinian. This is a comprehensive resort of high quality accommodation and services.
Hotel Castello enjoys a fine reputation as one of the best hotels on the Mediterranean, and has an independent feel. It is renowned for its peaceful, relaxing atmosphere and occupies a corner of the resort’s grounds, just a short distance from the sea. The hotel has the elegant Bar Bandiere, where you can relax over an aperitif before dining at the Cavalieri, a sumptuous buffet-style restaurant, which is reserved for Hotel Castello guests for both breakfast and dinner. Guests have the use of the Castello’s two freshwater swimming pools, shared with the guests of the Villa del Parco, Le Dune, Royal Pineta and the suites.
