Civil Wedding Ceremonies in Italy
Civil Weddings in Italy can only take place in locations authorised by the local authorities and are usually in specified rooms in a Town Hall. Rather than being rather austere, functional buildings, as they can be in Britain, the local town hall is often the architectural centrepiece of the town: from the dramatic Palazzo Vecchio in the centre of Florence, to the ornate ‘Sala di Dante’ in the Palazzo Communale in the heart of medieaval San Gimignano. Italian Civil Weddings are non-religious, legally binding ceremonies and are carried out in Italian, with an interpreter present. You may either choose to have the ceremony as the main wedding, with all your guests present, or as a small, intimate legal service with your two witnesses present and perhaps close family, with a further symbolic ceremony in a separate location. Wedding Receptions in Italy
These can be simple affairs at a local restaurant with an intimate atmosphere for your wedding party with the finest food and wine, to a more grand event in a majestic hotel or a private Palazzo, with drinks and canapés, a formal sit down meal, music and entertainment. Wedding Menus
Most Italian wedding venues will offer a range of sample menus which include either three or four courses and can also include a choice of welcome drinks, canapés and table wines. We use these usually as a starting point and these can be tailored to your tastes, anything is possible! You will find many of the house wines offered with menus are usually excellent; this is a real benefit of getting married close to the finest vineyards in Europe.
Prices
Prices will, of course, vary for wedding receptions, depending on what you require and how many people you invite. Prices per head may be lower if the party is larger, but there may also be supplementary charges to use certain locations or if marquees, music and special decor are required.
We will normally quote for the ceremony itself, including translation service, wedding coordinator in Italy and documentation, the wedding reception, including catering, decoration and photographer and the different travel and accommodation requirements for you and your guests separately.
