A Traditional Tropical Wedding
Are you dreaming of a romantic wedding in luxurious tropical surroundings, where a special celebration will be organised down to the very finest detail?
Amangalla provides a different twist on a tropical wedding, exuding romantic charm and an air of grandeur from its colonial past. The pillared verandas and open spaces imbue a sense of luxury and privacy, creating the perfect setting for a traditional wedding party of up to 60 guests.
Memorable celebrations will be organised down to the smallest detail, from lighting the traditional oil lamp to mango bellinis on the ramparts, from romantic dinners to elaborate banquets and from vintage car drives to traditional bullock cart rides around the Fort. Wedding cakes, hairdressers, entertainment such as flute music, jazz or Kandyan Dancers, fireworks, photographers and elephants are amongst the other services that can be arranged.
For smaller parties, the civil wedding ceremony can be arranged in the Garden Pavilion, a peaceful open space with wooden floors. For larger parties, the poolside gardens are an ideal location, surrounded by beautiful trees. It is also possible for couples to have a marriage service or a blessing service at the Anglican church of All Saints, just down the road from Amangalla, which has stained glass windows, wooden pews and vaulted ceilings. For a marriage service at this church, both parties need to be of Anglican faith (for a blessing service, the couple can be of any denomination).
A minimum booking of 10 room nights is required to arrange a wedding at Amangalla. For weddings of 20 people or more you will need to book the whole hotel.
