Our opinion
Yasawa Island Resort offers eleven deserted beaches on which to picnic and enjoy the seclusion.
Hotel description
Magnificent isolation awaits guests at the Yasawa Island Resort, set on a small unspoiled island in the Yasawa Group. Tucked amongst palm trees, the resort is made up of traditional thatched-roof buildings that overlook the sea and complement their natural environment. Natural woods have been used to create calming interiors that combine Fijian style with contemporary sophistication. The Yasawa Island Resort offers a unique opportunity for guests to experience the island’s culture and people, from experiencing a lovo (feast) to visiting the local villages. The resort has a superb range of facilities that utilise its superb natural position, including scuba diving and launches to secluded caves and coves. Guests can choose from eleven deserted beaches on with to picnic, or relax with a massage. Contemporary food is served in the restaurant, with an emphasis on the excellent seafood that is caught each day, the speciality being lobster from the surrounding reefs. Accommodation is offered in the thatched bures, providing a sanctuary that reflects the style of the island, with local timbers, traditional art and plantation shutters. Air-conditioned, they each have a hammock, open-air shower and a private beach hut. The Lomalagi Bure is the resort’s honeymoon bure, offering secluded split-level accommodation that is set 500-metres from the main resort and has an expansive patio overlooking a private beach. The resort has a privileged position as the only resort on the island, and with no televisions, guests can be assured of optimum tranquillity and privacy.
