Our opinion
Madinat Jumeirah “A grand, traditional resort on Jumeirah Beach.”
Hotel description
Madinat Jumeirah is an immense and luxurious resort, which has been designed to reflect a traditional and ancient Dubai, with meandering waterways, elegant towers and intricate detail. The resort is made up of three hotels: Mina A’ Salam, Al Qasr and Dar Al Masyaf. Mina A’ Salam and Al Qasr are impressive boutique hotels that face the palm-fringed beach. Mina A’ Salam has a good choice of bars and lounges and three refined dining options. These include traditional Chinese dishes at Zheng He, ocean dining at the Wharf where fresh seafood is served, and all-day dining at Al Muna where guests can enjoy Arabic and international cuisine. All restaurants have terraces where guests can dine al fresco enjoying views of the sea and harbour. Al Qasr is a luxurious palace and the centrepiece of the resort, with extensive gardens and a large pool area. It also has a selection of bars, lounges and restaurants with al-fresco dining. The restaurants serve a selection of French-inspired and Californian cuisine and the main restaurant, Arboretum, serves international and Arabic dishes. Dar Al Masyaf is made up of traditional summerhouses featuring rooms and suites dotted around charming courtyards. Approached through waterways is Pai Thai, Dar Al Masyaf’s secluded restaurant which serves a diverse range of cuisine al fresco with beautiful views of the waterway. Located right on the beach is Shimmers, serving light snacks and homemade ice creams. Water taxis transport guests to all areas and at the heart of the resort you will find Souk Madinat Jumeirah with a vibrant atmosphere and boasting a variety of shops, restaurants and bars. This lively area also features street performers. Nightly entertainment includes an amphitheatre and a luxury theatre with a host of international performances. There are numerous activities and facilities at the Madinat Jumeirah. Located next to the Mina A’ Salam through elegantly pillared paths and charming courtyards is the Quay Health Club. All adult guests of the Madinat Jumeirah can enjoy an excellent range of facilities including a large gym, two championship squash courts, an indoor lap pool, and a large fitness studio. The restaurant here complements the health club perfectly serving a healthy selection of food and drinks. Located by land or waterway is the new Talise spa. The spa is a labyrinth of paths, waterways and courtyards. With an impressive 26 individual and twin treatment villas the philosophy at the spa is based on holistic treatments tailored to the individual. This impressive resort offers excellent standards of luxurious accommodation, services and facilities.
