The Son Brull Hotel and Spa is a fascinating boutique hotel offering a fusion of five-star urban chic and Mediterranean charm. Built in the traditional Mallorcan style, the property, once an 18th century monastery, has recently been painstakingly restored. Many of the original features have been retained to complement the more contemporary additions, and the result is truly stunning. The rooms are flooded with light, which reflects back off the stark white walls, and the overall feeling is refreshing and relaxing. The hotel’s owners, who also run the nearby Relais and Châteaux property Hotel Cala Vincent, have tried to create a unique Mallorcan experience, from the art on the walls to the food served in the restaurant and the spa treatments offered. As you might expect, the service is both professional and friendly, making the Hotel Son Brull the ideal venue for a pampering treat.The Oliveds Spa offers a wide range of imaginative treatments, many which originate from traditional Mallorcan remedies. Local produce, for example sea salt, rosemary, honey and aloe vera, form the base for many of the treatments. A range of massages, peelings and facials are on offer. Much of the organic food used in the restaurant comes from the hotel’s own farm.The non-smoking restaurant is known as ’365’. It serves local Mallorcan food, a mixture of traditional and modern cuisine, such as paellas and barbecued meat and fish. Dining is flexible in the Son Brull Hotel and Spa, room service is available 24 hours a day and the snack menu can be enjoyed by the pool, on the terrace, or wherever you like. After dinner, enjoy a drink in the bar, which is a former olive press. The large press has been preserved and remains a central feature of the room. This, combined with the high ceilings and stone archways, give the room a rustic feel while contemporary furniture adds the final touch. The Son Brull Hotel and Spa offers a serene haven of design-orientated luxury set in 30 acres of Mallorcan countryside: the ideal setting for a rejuvenating spa break.
