Hotel description
Porto Elounda enjoys a remarkable situation on the blue Cretan coast. A genuinely luxurious retreat, it offers an enormous variety of services in a distinctively local atmosphere and ambiance. The architectural style is modern, but enriched by such unique traditional design elements as the intricately carved wooden ceilings and brightly-coloured hanging kilims that decorate the stylish main lobby. The rooms and suites are spacious, all with furnished private balconies, and many have shared or private pools or access to the large freshwater pools which surround much of the property. Families especially will appreciate the seafront bungalows and villas which have private gardens and easy, often direct, access to the sea. Bathrooms are beautifully finished in marble with luxurious fittings.Dining at Porto Elounda has plenty of variety, both in style and location. Breakfast buffet and table d’Hôte dinner are served at the panoramic Nafsika restaurant. During summer, Mediterranean and Cretan à la carte dining is available in the Elies restaurant in the olive grove, while lunch, generally a selection of fresh seafood and Greek dishes, is served at the Odysseus tavern, right on the water’s edge. The Kirki bar, again offering delightful views across the bay, serves aperitifs and cocktails, accompanied by piano music in the evening, and at the Beach Bar drinks and snacks are served throughout the day.Porto Elounda is a sophisticated resort and the perfect choice for an active holiday. While golf is an important ingredient here, water sports - available in great variety - are certainly the summer’s first active choice; the gym is lavishly equipped, and the exclusive Six Senses Spa brings the final touch of excellence to a most delightful resort.

Restrictions:Children from 6 years and older can use the indoor pool only if accompanied by an adult. The gym and spa are restricted to adult use only.
Babysitting: In-room babysitting is available in daytime and evening at a charge and must be pre-booked at least 6 hours in advance. There is a maximum of 2 children per babysitter. Babysitting Listening Is not available at the hotel.
Pre-ordering service: It is possible to order provisions for infants and toddlers which you will receive in your room on arrival. Please ask for details.
Children's entertainment: Children’s books, DVDs, videos and board games are available. The hotel also organises a mini disco and themed evenings for family entertainment in the summer.
Medical services: There is 24-hour first aid cover on site. The nearest hospital is 7 kilometres from the hotel.
Family dining: Children are allowed to dine with adults in the main restaurant, where highchairs and non-smoking areas are available. A children’s menu is provided and à la carte is available if the order is placed prior to mealtimes. Early dining at 6pm is also available for families with children. Children are not allowed in the gourmet restaurants.

Elounda is a picturesque town with some fine beaches and good restaurants. The nearby former Venetian fortress island of Spinalonga is an interesting site to explore. There are daily excursions to West Crete, Knossos museum and market and Spinalonga.
