Our opinion
The Hyatt Regency Grand Cypress is a perfect base for exploring and also offers outstanding leisure facilities and attractions.
Hotel description
Adjacent to Walt Disney World and a short distance from numerous other famous attractions, the Hyatt Regency Grand Cypress is not only your perfect base for exploring but also offers outstanding leisure facilities and attractions of its own, including a championship golf course and a private lake with its own sand beach.
The resort is situated on a massive 1,500 acre site, alive with activities of all kinds. A major highlight is the half acre free-form swimming pool with waterfalls, slides and whirlpools. Tennis courts and a full range of spa treatments complete the world-class facilities that are available here. As you would expect from resort of this size, there are abundant places to eat and a range to suit different tastes and moods. At La Coquina Chef’s Table guests dine inside the kitchen and enjoy a five course meal, accompanied by selected wines if you choose: the atmosphere is intimate and worthy of a special occasion, perhaps with the children left with a baby-sitter for the evening. La Coquina also offers a great Sunday brunch in the dining room looking out at Lake Windsong. Seafood is to be found at Hemingway’s, whilst Cascade offers a range of dishes for breakfast and lunch. In addition there is the White Horse Bar and Grille, Perks coffee bar and the General Store that serves ready made meals, ideal for the beach on Lake Windsong or for a day out. Bedrooms at the Hyatt Regency Grand Cypress are at least 360 square feet in size and house either a king bed or two double beds. The decoration is stylish and welcoming in warm colours, reflecting the tropical lushness of central Florida. All rooms, whether lake, pool or garden view, have their own balcony. Regency Club rooms have the added attractions of a separate concierge service and a private lounge serving breakfast and evening cocktails. Up to two children under 18 can share with two adults in each room and some rooms interconnect if you want more space. Near to the resort is Walt Disney World, plus a whole host of other superb tourist attractions to which the concierge can arrange transport for you.
