Our opinion
Paraiso de la Bonita ia a wonderful beach hideaway.
Hotel description
Situated in a protected area along the pristine beaches of Petempich Bay, Paraiso de la Bonita is a retreat that has been designed to work in harmony with the abundant natural environment. The architecture of the resort’s bright red and yellow buildings was influenced by traditional Mexican styles and the ancient Mayan culture that is prevalent in the region. Richly furnished with warm colours and rugged wooden pillars, the resort’s interiors are vibrant and exotic. Surrounded by lush grounds of palm trees and waterfalls, with the sound of the waves crashing in the distance, the resort has a tranquil ambience. The resort’s broad range of facilities help guests to make the most of the beautiful location and includes ‘La Bonita,’ the resort’s 48ft catamaran, which is available for private day cruises, overnight excursions, cocktail parties and moonlight dining. Days can be spent scuba diving and snorkelling along the world’s second largest reef, or exploring the rich ancient heritage of the region with a trip to Mayan archaeological sites. The open-air oceanside grill Chiringuito offers the opportunity to taste the wonderful Chilpachole – a traditional Mexican seafood stew. Guest accommodation is provided in the resort’s superb suites, inspired by the haciendas of the Yucatan Peninsula, with decorative ironwork and colonial archways. Each suite reflects a specific international style, which is complemented by beamed ceilings, unpolished marble floors and artefacts from around the world, to create a uniquely luxurious retreat. This is a wonderful beach hideaway that has excellent facilities and activities.
