Our opinion
Esperanza is scattered above two beautiful secluded coves with plentiful space for relaxation
Hotel description
An exquisite position on the bluffs of Punta Ballena gives Esperanza a truly incomparable setting. Low thatched buildings are scattered above two beautiful secluded coves, working in unison with the natural surroundings, and open walls provide constant panoramas of the sea. The resort provides plentiful space for relaxation, from the sculpture gallery that is nestled amongst the colourful garden, to the indoor steam caves and grottoes of the spa. A range of water sports can be enjoyed from the seclusion of the resort’s private cove, including snorkelling and scuba diving, and convertible Chrysler Crossfire cabriolets can be hired from the resort, enabling you to explore the beautiful scenery of Baja California. The intimate El Restaurante begins at the circular palapa-roofed dining room and continues down to the two sandy coves, with three stone terraces to dine upon whilst enjoying the Mediterranean-inspired food. There are many opportunities to experience the diverse flavours of Mexico at Esperanza, such as on Thursday evenings when the resort hosts ‘Mexicanisimo,’ a celebration of Mexican food, music, drinks and handicrafts under the stars that culminates in a dazzling firework display. The suites vary in size but are all elegantly decorated in the Baja style with handcrafted furniture and local art work. The garden level beachfront casitas enjoy a particularly relaxing and romantic location, with a private patio that overlooks the beautiful gardens and views over the Sea of Cortez. Esperanza is a small and intimate resort that offers dedicated service and a calm, relaxing ambience.
