The Villa Campestri is a noble country manor occupying a striking position amongst its 140 hectares of lawns and wooded parkland. Located high in the hills above Vicchio, the Villa Campestri enjoys breathtaking views of the Mugello valley. The mansion’s history stretches back 700 years to when it was a treasure of the Michelozzi family, renowned for the great Renaissance architecture of the Mugello palaces of the Medici, Trebbio and Cafaggiolo. The main villa of the Villa Campestri which houses 15 rooms and 6 family suites clearly displays the devotion of the owner, Signor Pasquali, who has lovingly restored this wonderful property. The original terracotta floors, eye-catching caisson ceilings, century old wooden doors and beautiful 14th Century furnishings are just a few of the architectural treasures awaiting discovery here. Another treasure is the fine olive oil produced on the estate and used as a base for the exquisite Tuscan cuisine served in the hotel restaurant, and in the cellar taverna which is olive oil themed. Although the Villa Campestri is a haven of peace and tranquillity in its own right, Florence is an easy drive, and perfect for a day trip.
