The Hotel Cala di Volpe is one of Europe’s most exclusive and luxurious hotels. Nestling on the attractive Bay of Foxes on the Costa Smeralda amid a landscape fragrant with juniper and rosemary, the Cala di Volpe was designed by architect Jacques Couelle to create a timeless Mediterranean ambience, where the natural and the man-made co-exist harmoniously. Built in the form of a water-side village, its position gives glimpses of the distant mountains as well as the azure of the Mediterranean. Colour, texture, sunlight and shadow combine to create a stylish yet understated elegance throughout the hotel. At night the ambience is very special when the hotel is illuminated with the water around it. Dinner is usually quite formal and guests dress accordingly. The rooms are spacious and individually furnished, their thick white walls and pale furnishings enlivened by coloured tiles, frescoes and cushions; most have their own balcony or terrace overlooking the sea, the pool or the gardens. Wrought-iron head-boards add local style. The Hotel Cala di Volpe has a large swimming pool, jetties for visiting boats, a Mediterranean style restaurant and ample grounds and sun terraces. The hotel boat offers a shuttle service to a private beach, for which you can order picnic lunches. As well as a very well equipped gym the hotel has a boat rental company on the premises, where boats with or without a skipper can be hired. The Hotel Cala di Volpe boasts a high number of repeat clients, usually recognised at once by the head receptionist who has been at the hotel for many years. The Cala di Volpe is one of the most sophisticated hotels on the Costa Smeralda. Early booking is highly recommended.
