The Borgo Egnazia was conceived as a resort village consisting of hotel, residential-style villas, an Apulian style Borgo with sports and leisure facilities sitting amid olive groves a few hundred metres from the Adriatic Sea and bordering the ruins of the ancient city of Egnathia and the fisherman’s village of Savelletri. The Borgo Egnazia is a sister-resort to the Masseria San Domenico, with whom we have worked for many years and whose golf club the resort uses too. The history and culture of the region are reflected in the architectural style of the exterior and the painstaking detail of the interiors, fashioned by local craftsmen. Dry-stone walls, Arab gardens and lush vegetation create an environment of seclusion and privacy. The resort consists of three distinct areas; the central building houses the hotel with its 63 rooms, there is the borgo with its alley ways and white-washed houses which contain a total of 93 suites and deluxe rooms and then there are the exclusive villas which offer the comfort and cosiness of a home but with the service of a 5 star hotel. Each villa has 3 bedrooms, rooftop terrace, garden, patio and a private pool. The resort abounds in leisure and sports facilities and has the 18 hole championship golf course at San Domenico, a tennis academy, three outdoor swimming pools, an indoor heated swimming pool, and a private beach club with water sports nearby, served by a complimentary shuttle. Children are catered for with the Kids’ Club with its own swimming pool, playground and range of activities for all ages. Dining is important to your stay, so not only are there two full service restaurants, but you can have 24 hour room service as well as a personal chef in your villa. Borgo Egnazia is truly a new development for Italy and an exciting addition to our programme.
