Hotel description
The Vigilius Mountain Resort is a stylish designer hotel set 1500 metres high in the mountains. It can only be reached on foot or by a cable-car ride from the village of Lana, about four miles from Merano, which will take you above green valleys with an abundance of vineyards and apple trees. The Vigilius Mountain Resort is a haven of peace and tranquillity, surrounded by beautiful mountains, the only sound to be heard the gentle ringing of cowbells. The Vigilius Mountain Resort is built in natural materials that complement the local environment, and has won awards for its ecological standards. An abundance of wood is offset by richer-coloured furnishings, and large expanses of glass windows merge the exterior with the interior. The spacious Piazza boasts a cosy fire that burns in the evening. There are two restaurants, serving Alpine and international cuisine. The Speck and Wine cellar offers a delicious array of local wine and cheeses; picnic baskets are available, and the hotel can arrange a guide to accompany guests on walking excursions in the mountains. The Vigilius Mountain Resort's complimentary "move&explore" programme offers activities such as archery, yoga, 'Five Tibetans' and a pass to ride on the cable car and lifts on the Vigiljoch (3 winter ski slopes). The spa combines nurturing Asian and Western treatments perfect for relaxing after exercise on the slopes. The 41 bedrooms are unique in having a heated stone element separating the bedroom area from the bathroom. The Vigilius Mountain Resort is an oasis of luxury amidst beautiful scenery.
