    Our opinion

Conrad Maldives Rangali Island is one of the world’s most luxurious getaways, with two Spas.

    Hotel description

The Conrad Maldives Rangali Island enjoys a breathtaking location on the two tropical islands of Rangali and Rangalifinolhu, joined by a bridge across the shallow, turquoise waters of the Indian Ocean. The hotel has been designed and executed in a style that is totally in keeping with the region, with attractive use of wood and thatch, the open air and the soft coral sand. Villas are either on the beach or over the water. The beach villas are all on Rangalifinolhu and face the sea, with private open-air gardens with rain showers as well as stunning bathing pavilions. The water villas are on Rangali, all built over the lagoon on timber stilts. Decorated in the natural materials of wood, cane and palm leaf, the villas are spacious and elegant with redwood oak floors, cedar walls and teak decks, from which steps lead you down into the water. The Conrad Maldives Rangali Island resort has seven world-class restaurants, including Ithaa, the world’s first undersea restaurant, with walls and ceilings built entirely out of glass; here you can enjoy Maldivian cuisine with Western and Asian influences while uniquely looking out at the marine life around and above you. On the main island is the Atoll Market restaurant, which opens out onto the pool and faces the ocean. International cuisine is served here from live cooking stations. On this island you will also find the overwater Mandhoo spa restaurant and the Sunset Grill. On Rangali guests can dine al fresco at the Vilu restaurant overlooking the lagoon, at the underground Wine Cellar serving a selection of gourmet Euro-Asian cuisine, or the Koko Grill where guests can enjoy Japanese teppanyaki on the beach. The islands with their soft, white, pink-tinged sand, warm waters, and beaches fringed with coconut palms provide not just classic sunbathing in glorious natural scenery but also numerous sports and leisure activities, with an excellent range of water sports and two spas. The resort’s overwater spa retreat, built over the lagoon on Rangalifinolhu, consists of 21 spa water villas with their own private treatment room and a spa retreat with 9 treatment rooms, a retail area and a hair and beauty salon. The Conrad Maldives Rangali Island offers excellent accommodation and facilities in a truly Maldivian ambience.

The Spa Retreat is a secluded, peaceful, haven set on stilts over the lagoon at the tip of the resort’s main island. It is a self-contained resort-within-a-resort: a luxurious destination spa with nine treatment rooms, 21 Spa Water Villas and a gourmet spa restaurant. Here you will be offered a holistic spa experience that combines therapies, cuisine and lifestyle activity classes for noticeable results. The spa’s philosophy is based on five symbolic elements of earth, air, fire, water and plant, which are all associated with their own characteristic benefit to promote wellbeing.

Nine spacious spa treatment rooms are open to the elements and benefit from the warmth of the sun, cooling sea breezes and ocean views. Five of these offer sauna and steam rooms with open air bath. The Spa Retreat also includes hair salon, retail boutique, relaxation room, Aromatherapy court, consultation areas, juice bar and sun deck.

A second spa, the Over-Water Spa, sits on stilts 50m out over the ocean from Rangali Island. With a philosophy based on the body’s seven chakras, the Dorissima product line offers guests a choice of seven different rituals, each associated with a different colour, and provides the perfect complement to the treatments available at the Spa Retreat.

    Signature Treatments

Fire - Detoxify Ritual: Purify and detoxify with this warming and stimulating combination. Essential oils of juniper eucalyptus and grapefruit assist in eliminating toxins from the body and warming the muscles. Sugar Plum extracts combine with spicy Hungarian herbal mud to firm the body while the Sugar Plum facial retextures the skin with natural fruit acids.

Earth - Nurture Ritual: Bathe in a pure mud bath to re-mineralise and bring balance back to your body, followed by a body exfoliation using granules of corn, wheat germ and oats to stimulate circulation and remove cellular build-up. Wrapped in nourishing butters and seeds, your skin will be left glowing. Complete this ritual with an absolute facial experience, incorporating an eye and lip treatment to plump and smooth.

Air - Alive Ritual: This total body ritual begins with time in your own private heat therapy and hydrobath, inhaling the refreshing aromas of bergamot, coriander and lime to clear the mind. An invigorating dry body exfoliation prepares the skin for an enlivening body massage. The Alive Air Ritual is completed with a hydrating facial to brighten, plump and refresh.

Water - Peace Ritual: A full body exfoliation enriched with antioxidants from pears and apples leaves the skin protected and soft. You will then be enveloped in a firming and toning pure pear hydrating wrap. Enjoy the soothing properties of water with our 7-head Vichy shower while the waves lap below. Slowly drift away with a customised massage while body, mind and soul come to a peaceful unison.
