Corsica is a rugged, mountainous island surrounded by long sandy beaches and turquoise waters. Wherever you are on the coast, you see the hazy blue green hills give way to craggy mountains in the interior. Corsica is a beautiful island with outstanding holiday possibilities allowing you to combine a beach holiday with interesting sightseeing. There are numerous watersports around the coast, a golf course in the extreme south, boats for hire and fishing trips and inland abundant wild flowers along the road sides and up the tortuous tracks in the mountains, lush pastures, rocky crags, stone cottages and goats. The architecture as with much else on the island of Corsica is an enchanting mixture of southern French and Italian and there are fortress towns, ports, citadels and prehistoric sites to explore. Corsica really is full of dramatic scenery, both inland and along the coast.
