A lush green island of just three square miles, Canouan has many secluded white sand beaches and is sheltered by one of the world’s largest coral reefs. Raffles Resort Canouan Island is set on a beautiful protected bay on the west coast and covers 300 acres between the mountains and the Caribbean Sea. This is a sophisticated resort that has much to offer, from the Jim Fazio-designed 18-hole championship golf course to four tennis courts and a water sports centre. The location is ideal to enjoy some of the best scuba diving in the Grenadines, and a wide variety of trips can be arranged, from night dives to group and individual dives. The lush tropical gardens are a joy to stroll through, and for true relaxation guests can make use of the Raffles Amrita Spa, which has a wonderful hillside setting above one of the resort’s long stretches of private beach. The spa has nine thatched-roof palapa suites and two Grand Palapas that are set over the water with glass-bottom floors, creating a very special spa experience. There are five restaurants at the resort, including La Varenne, where exclusive European fine dining combines with spectacular views of the Caribbean. Godhal’s Beach Bar and Grill is an ideal lunchtime choice, offering a wonderful array of Caribbean- and Latin-influenced dishes with freshly caught fish. Accommodation is particularly spacious, and all rooms have four-poster beds and have been beautifully decorated with warm yet neutral colours. Children are welcome year round. Sugar Palm Kids’ Club is complimentary and organises activities for children aged 4 to 14 free of charge. Baby sitting services are available on request. All children aged 17 and under can stay free in parents' room up to the permissible maximum occupancy per room. Children under 13 are not permitted to dine in La Varenne restaurant or La Piazza and are not encouraged in the fine dining room of La Piazza after 8 pm.
