Our opinion
Half Moon is spacious, luxurious and elegant - catering for all your needs.
Hotel description
One of the great benefits of Jamaica’s Half Moon is that the sheer size of the resort provides you with numerous leisure facilities whilst its thoughtful landscaping and meticulously maintained grounds allow you seclusion and intimacy. The Half Moon resort stretches over 400 acres bordering the sea and a mile-long sandy beach. The landscaping is such that much of Half Moon’s accommodation either faces the sea or forms small clusters which nestle just behind the beach. Bedrooms, villas, shops, sports facilities, restaurants and bars are located by Half Moon’s extensive beachfront in the tropical gardens of palms, topiary, hibiscus, oleander and bougainvillaea. The buildings at the Half Moon hotel are in a West Indian plantation style, with interiors furnished in a mixture of elegant European fashions and additional Jamaican local flavour particularly in the colours and paintings. The outstanding range of sports facilities should keep the most avid sports enthusiast busy for days on end here at Half Moon, whilst for moments of relaxation there are lounges, terraces, the excellent on-site shopping centre, and the mile-long sandy beach where you can sip a cool drink or enjoy afternoon tea. The range of restaurants caters for a multitude of tastes, from the Seagrape Restaurant, which offers classic international and Jamaican cuisine, to Indian and Thai food in Akbar and Thai Gardens and Italian in Il Giardino. The Half Moon resort offers an extensive range of accommodation, from double rooms to 4- or 7-bedroom villas which offer excellent value for money. The resort now has a new spa, the Fern Tree and has opened a Golf Academy offering a variety of programmes under the instruction of golf professionals. A popular choice for many who visit Jamaica, the Half Moon hotel happily caters for couples and families.
