Arriving from the water, the first glimpse of Rosewood Little Dix Bay is of a white sandy crescent-shaped beach nestling between wooded peaks. The gardens that surround the hotel’s stone buildings are enchanting with the vibrant colours of frangipani, hibiscus, oleander, scarlet cordial and Jerusalem thorn lending a true sense of the exotic to the rustic feel of the interiors. The emphasis at Little Dix Bay is on relaxation combined with first-class service, and the hotel offers a fantastic range of activities that enable guests to do as much, or as little as they please. The on-site activities range from private tennis lessons and sailing to massages in the superb spa that enjoys panoramic views. The hotel provides complimentary beach drops to nearby beaches, as well as guided snorkelling tours, allowing you to make the most of the fabulous natural setting. Guests can explore the island by jeep or take a day trip to some of the other nearby islands or the famous Baths. The hotel’s three restaurants include The Sugar Mill, which is situated in a stone structure that is fashioned after a local sugar factory. Here, mere steps away from the beach, guests can enjoy an eclectic fusion of contemporary Pan-Asian and European cuisines. Lunch is served in the Pavilion Restaurant (which also offers breakfast and gourmet A la Carte dinner) and also in the Beach Grill. In the guest rooms, to further the calm and peaceful ambience of the hotel, modern conveniences such as air-conditioning and telephones are provided but can be turned off, and room keys do not exist. The bedrooms reflect the beauty of the island through the use of custom-made furnishings that use indigenous island materials such as mahogany, bamboo and reed. The Rosewood junior suites are very spacious and desirable, with a large outdoor living area, sea view and an outdoor garden shower, all of which allow guests to luxuriate in the hotel’s superlative position. Rosewood Little Dix Bay enjoys a first-class reputation as one of the best hotels in the Caribbean and early booking is highly recommended.
