Our opinion
Turtle Beach is an all-inclusive resort on the south coast of Barbados, ideal for families because of its accommodation and facilities.
Hotel description
Located on the lively South Coast of Barbados, the Turtle Beach resort sits on 1,500 feet of soft white sand at Dover Beach and is a deluxe resort offering an impressive range of sports and leisure facilities. The approach to Turtle Beach is along a lively stretch of road featuring bars and restaurants, the Turtle Beach hotel itself being at the secluded end amid six acres of lush tropical gardens. The most striking impression is a feeling of airiness and space - there are waterfalls, pillars and even tall palm trees throughout the interior. The 164 suites or junior suites at Turtle Beach are situated in two main buildings, many with ocean view or on the oceanfront. Each has a private patio or balcony and is decorated with modern, brightly coloured furnishings. Turtle Beach’s guests can choose to relax by one of the two natural form pools or to take part in a wide range of complimentary activities, including tennis, sailing, snorkelling and other water sports. There is a large gym here at the Turtle Beach resort, where aerobics and other classes can be arranged. Food is available all day in the hotel; at Turtle Beach all meals and drinks are included in the cost of the holiday and guests have an excellent choice of restaurants. The main restaurant, Chelonia, offers full breakfast, lunch and dinner; the informal Waterfront Cafe serves a buffet lunch and grill and a Saturday barbeque, whilst Asiagos is an Italian restaurant for adults and children aged over 12 only. Turtle Beach is ideal for families, as children are particularly well catered for with the Tommy Turtle Kids’ Club, open daily from 9am to 9pm with a wide range of activities and outings. Babysitters are available and connecting suites can be arranged on request. The Turtle Beach resort in Barbados is a great family hotel.
