Our opinion
Cap Juluca's louvered doors open to expose the pure white sand and brilliant turquoise sea.
Hotel description
The domes of Cap Juluca’s Moorish-inspired roofs seem to rise like a mirage of blinding white stone against the bright blue of the sea and sky as it is approached from across the lagoon. The hotel reception, lounge and library are housed in the pinkish-orange coloured main building, which exudes an air of luxury, elegance and sophistication with its rustic tiled floors and archways. The hotel is set on a beautiful white sand beach that stretches for two and a half miles, and a number of service bars are positioned along it so that guests can order drinks merely by lowering a flag from their beach umbrella. A good variety of leisure and recreational facilities ensures that guests can make the most of the hotel’s wonderful position, such as with snorkelling, sailing, aqua golf and tennis. Day trips and golf excursions are also offered to St Martin, Nevis and St Barts. Alternatively, you can unwind with a therapeutic experience in the spa or enjoy the luxury of a couples’ massage in the privacy of your own room. The hotel has a superb reputation for dining, incorporating excellent international cuisine with Caribbean dishes and local ingredients, creating an enticing and exciting selection. The bedrooms are housed in white domed-roof buildings that silhouette against the sky, tucked amongst tropical foliage and leading right down to the beach. The interiors of the spacious rooms have been designed to emphasise the stark beauty of the natural location so that the louvered doors open to expose the pure white sand and brilliant turquoise sea. Moorish-Caribbean motifs, inlaid mirrors, Italian tiles and Moroccan fabrics are used with aplomb to add luxury, further complementing the strong colours seen outside. The villas are so well spaced that it appears that each one has its own distinct stretch of beach and sea, a position that is best appreciated over a breakfast of freshly-baked croissants, muffins or banana bread, which is served on your private patio or terrace. Service is impeccable: buggies transport you along the driveway to your room, ice is delivered twice a day and picnic coolers with cold bottled water are placed along the beach in front of each villa. This is a unique hotel that is thoroughly luxurious and inviting, set on a stunning beach.
