Opera Season at the Caracalla Roman Baths
In the summer months of June to August, the famous Teatro dell’Opera in Rome moves outdoors to the magnificent setting of the ancient Roman baths of Caracalla. The annual programme of opera, ballets and concerts is rich and varied with a range from classical to some slightly less well-known pieces.

Umbria Jazz Festival
The Umbria Jazz Festival takes place every year in July amongst the Roman ruins, mediaeval ramparts and elegant churches of Perugia. Stages are set up in its streets of pale stone houses in this University city overlooking the valley of the Tiber. The festival lasts for ten days and has a mixture of jazz legends and new talents. It’s quite a treat for all music lovers.

Macerata Opera Festival
Macerata is a historic town set in attractive countryside south of Ancona. It actually has the largest outdoor arena after Verona, having been built in the early 19th Century to host handball games. However, from 1914 the venue was adopted for summer opera performances and the Macerata Festival started. Today it attracts the greatest performers in the world with Placido Domingo and Jose Carreras having performed here in the past.
