A Sri Lankan holiday can involve some fascinating activities ranging from leisurely and unusual to the more adventurous. If you are a keen horse rider then build in some horse-riding as part of your Expressions Holiday to Sri Lanka.

Horse-riding is available at Heritance Kandalama, Elephant Corridor and Ulagalla Resort, all situated in the Cultural Triangle with their own extensive grounds, well-kept horses and equipment.
There are also riding stables near the golden beaches of Bentota on the south-west coast.
The Victoria Saddle Club, near the Victoria golf course (one hour east of Kandy) is run by an ex-trotting jockey. At the time of writing, the stables have two ponies and two horses (and a limited selection of riding hats). You can take riding lessons or, if you know how to ride, enjoy a trek amidst stunning scenery. The racecourse in Nuwara Eliya is a focal point for pony rides – somewhat rudimentary but fun for children.
Being active can pose its challenges in this tropical island; visitors need to take into account the heat and humidity, especially at the height of the day, as well as the profusion of insects and wildlife that might become hostile when disturbed.
